Peng Shunan, 53, is a male practitioner who lived in Qiaoche Village, Hanyang District, Wuhan City, Hubei Province. In December 2001, he was arrested and sent to the Hanyang Labour Camp, where he was tortured to death about 20 days later.

On the afternoon of December 12, 2001, Peng Shunan was preparing dinner at home when a man, surnamed Wang, from the community office came to tell him that the police station director wanted to see him. Wang then took Peng to the Erqiao Police Station. Peng's wife did not get any news about Peng until midnight when Peng called her asking her to bring in some daily necessities because he might be sent to a forced labour camp. Peng's wife rushed to the police station; however, she did not get to see her husband. Instead, she was told that he had already been sent to Hanyang Labour Camp. Afterwards, Peng's family went to the labour camp several times to deliver a quilt and other daily necessities, but they were not allowed to see him.

In fact, the labour camp did not give Peng the quilt that his family brought him. On January 1, 2002, Peng's wife learned from Liu Sanhei (the director of Erqiao Community Office) that Peng did not feel well in his stomach and he could not get to sleep for several days.

On the afternoon of January 8, 2002, the police station informed Peng's family that Peng was sent to the hospital for emergency treatment. When Peng's wife got to the hospital, Peng was near death. By the time his son arrived at the hospital, Peng had already died. Such a good person was tortured to death in just 20 days. Jiang's regime has committed yet another crime against a Falun Dafa practitioner.
