On May 8th, 2010, Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Kao Fuquan, who lived in Kaojia Village, Zhaoyuan City, Shandong Province, was arrested by the 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) and the Domestic Security Agency. He was detained in the Lingnan Gold Mine Company in Zhaoyuan City. Policeman Li Jianguan and head of the 610 Office Ji Xiaodong headed up a group policemen to torture Mr. Kao for five days.
Mr. Kao was jailed on the second floor of the brainwashing centre and was severely tortured for five days and nights. His screams could be heard throughout the building. The brainwashing centre refused to disclose any recent information about him.
Mr. Kao Fuquan's family has never been allowed to visit him. At the beginning of July, his family again asked to visit him and were again turned down. It is suspected that Mr. Kao has been seriously injured as a result of torture and that the brainwashing centre is trying to keep his family members from finding out about it.
On July 3rd, four police officers arrived at the barbershop belonging to his son. They harassed his family members and demanded the names and home addresses of Mr. Kao Fuquan's friends.
