Fabricated News Reported after Ms. Tian Jiang Was Arrested

The police from Yangqu County, Taiyuan City broke into the home of Ms. Tian Jiang, located in the Wanbolin District, at around 1:00 p.m. on June 3rd, 2010. There were more than a dozen policemen involved including Guan Jianxin from South Heping Road Police Station, Bao Hongbin from Wanbolin District Police Department, and Tian Guoxi from the Yangqu County Police Department.

Ms. Tian was home alone at the time. In order to avoid being arrested, she climbed to the outer protection grid of the balcony located on the fourth floor, and stood on the thin rails. The police called in the fire brigade. They used the climbing frame to forcibly get her down to the ground and then arrested her.

During the process, the police and firemen kept telling the crowd of onlookers a falsehood that Ms. Tian was attempting suicide. Ms. Tian kept shouting: "The police persecute Falun Gong!" She also said that she wasn't attempting suicide, but was forced into this situation by the police.

Mr. Tian's husband Zhang Baojun and mother Li Aiying went to the South Heping Road Police Station and asked them to release her. However, policeman Bao Hongbin arrested the husband. The mother's home was ransacked the day before. Mr. Zhang is now being held at the Yangqu County Detention Centre. Ms. Tian is being held at the Taiyuan City Detention Centre.

On June 4th, a fabricated news story was broadcast, making it appear that Ms. Tian was attempting suicide and was rescued by the firemen. This was reported on the Shanxi Province Economic Information TV and Shanxi Huanghe TV stations and in the Taiyuan Evening Newspaper.
