Name: Tong Jinfu
Gender: Male
Age: 60
Address: Sandaobu Village, Yongling Town, Xinbin County, Fushun City, Liaoning Province
Date of Death: April 24th, 2010

Mr. Tong Jinfu started practising Falun Gong in 1998. He had been a person with many ailments, who was heavily dependent upon medication. A chronic stomach problem had bothered him for many years. After practising Falun Gong, his digestive problem was healed, and the tumour that had been on his neck for more than 30 years disappeared.

After Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started persecuting Falun Gong in July 1999, officials in Mr. Tong's village had people monitor practitioners. Police officers from the Yongling Town Police Station frequently came to Mr. Tong's home to harass him, ransack his home, and arrest him so that they could collect a fine for his release. Over the years, Mr. Tong's family has paid 40,000 yuan1 in fines.

Officers Wang Haiwei, Cao Sixin, and others from the Yongling Town Police Station arrested and detained Mr. Tong at the police station several times. They also took him to the Xinbin County Detention Centre twice.

At 10:00 p.m. on May 3rd, 2003, Cao Sixin and other officers from the Yongling Town Police Station arrested Mr. Tong in his home. They again took him to the Xinbin County Detention Centre. Mr. Tong went on a hunger strike for 11 days to protest his detention. When his health deteriorated, his family was notified to come and take him home. They told Mr. Tong's wife to bring him back to the detention centre when he had recovered.

To avoid further persecution, and despite the fact that he was very weak, Mr. Tong Jinfu left home on June 6th, 2003. Guo Huawei, the then-Director of the Yongling Town Police Station, said to Mr. Tong's wife, "I will not be easy on him if I find him."

Mr. Tong lived in other cities for the next nearly seven years. He worked at temporary jobs and lived on a very limited income. He became weak after years of psychological pressure and intensive work. One day in April 2010, he suddenly couldn't stand up. His legs became numb. He called his family, who brought him back to his hometown. He fell into a coma and they took him to the hospital. After 10 days in the hospital Mr. Tong Jinfu passed away on April 24th, 2010.
