Ms. Li Chunlan, a Falun Gong practitioner in Tieling City, Liaoning Province, has been arrested and sent to a forced labour camp three times. She was persecuted to the point of a mental disorder at Masanjia Forced Labour Camp. Ms. Li Chunhong, her younger sister, was recently arrested and sent to Masanjia.

Li Chunhong was arrested outside her home on February 2nd, 2010. After being detained at Tieling Detention Centre for a month, she was taken to a labour camp. Her family went to the detention centre to see her on March 3rd. An official there told them that the Kaiyuan Police Department had sent Li Chunhong to Masanjia Forced Labour Camp in Shenyang City on March 3rd. Her family asked how long her sentence was, but they did not get an answer.

The older sister, Li Chunlan, has been detained in Masanjia Forced Labour Camp three times since the persecution began on July 1999. She was so severely persecuted that she developed a mental disorder and has not been able to take care of herself since.

The Kaiyuan Police Department of Tieling City told landlord he could no longer rent his house to this family and sealed their door. The father, Li Zhongbin, had to take his 90-year-old mother and his mentally disordered daughter to another city.

This family has been persecuted for the past ten years. Father Li Zhongbin and daughter Li Chunlan were both sentenced to one year of forced labour in October 1999. When Li Chunlan was at Masanjia Forced Labour Camp the guards used electric batons to shock her lips, beat her, and tortured her in other ways. When Li Zhongbin was at Tieling Forced Labour Camp, he was forced to dig ditches and demolish houses.

Li Zhongbin was arrested again in October 2002. He became emaciated and lost a front tooth due to a beating. Two of his ribs were fractured, and his stomach and intestines were injured during the beatings. He had faecal incontinence and lost feeling in his legs. He was sent home in April 2004 because he was suffering from severe diseases as a result of mistreatment.

After Li Chunlan returned from Masanjia so mentally disordered, her neighbours were concerned. Her father had to quit his job and stay home to take care of her. Due to the persecution, this family is not able to live a normal life. Li Chunhong, the only family member who was able to work and feed the family, has now been arrested and is being held in Masanjia Forced Labour Camp.
