Three Older Practitioners Die as a Result of Persecution

Ms. Wang Shuqian, a retiree of the Xianning City Building Company in Hebei Province, died at age 83 on December 12th, 2009. She had suffered through many years of persecution.

Ms. Wang Shuqian from Xianning City, Hubei Province, Dies After Suffering Persecution for Many Years

In August 1999, Ms. Wang was arrested at the Wenquan Mall, then detained at the Chalukou Police Station, where she was locked inside a metal cage. The persons responsible for her persecution were Song Ruisheng, Du Zhiqiang, and Bai Yuping.

Ms. Wang was arrested at the front gate of the Building Company compound in September 1999. She was imprisoned in the Wenquan Shuanghe Detention Centre for 15 days, and had 300 yuan1 extorted from her. The persons responsible for the persecution were Song Ruisheng, Du Zhiqiang, Bai Yuping, and Chen Dijian.

In January, 2000, Ms. Wang was arrested at her home by officers Song Ruisheng, Du Zhiqiang, and Liu Jingxi, and imprisoned at the Wenquan Shuanghe Detention Centre for 15 days.

Ms. Wang was put under police surveillance for five months, beginning on May 24th, 2000. During this time, she was not allowed to leave the Building Company family compound.

On December 20th, 2001, Ms. Wang was detained at the Wenquan Shuanghe Detention Centre for 15 days.

Ms. Wang was arrested in front of the Wenquan Qianshan Television Tower at 5:50 a.m. on July 10th, 2002, and detained at the No.1 Bridge Police Station. The police deprived her of sleep, turned her home into a prison cell, and cancelled her pension. The persecutors included Wang (first name unknown, director of the No. 1 Bridge Police Station), Song Ruisheng, Qian Jianxin, Du Zhiqiang, Cheng Lebing, Zhou Jianyong, Tu Jilin, Liu Jinlong, and Bi Mingyun.

At 9:00 a.m. on April 2nd, 2008, a security guard reported Ms. Wang to the Wenquan Economy Zone Police Department while she was talking about Falun Gong to others in front of the Wenquan Department Store. Jin Guoxing, director of the Domestic Security Division of the Wenquan Economy Zone Police Department, followed Ms. Wang to her home. Ms. Wang fainted in front of her door. Jin called Bi Mingyun along with other officers from the Chalukou Police Station. When they arrived at her home, they ignored Ms. Wang, but took the house key from her purse, opened her door, searched her home and took her books, a computer, and a printer. Ms. Wang regained consciousness after the officers had left.

In June 2008, the Building Company tore down Ms. Wang's home, claiming that they would build a new building. Ms. Wang was forced to move to her daughter's home in Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province.

Ms. Wang Shuqian died at the age 83, on December 12th, 2009.

Mr. Xu Baiyi Dies after Being Tortured in Jilin Prison


Mr. Xu Baiyi, a practitioner from Jilin Province, died at the age of 55, on January 29th, 2010. He was tortured in the Jilin Province Prison since 2002. Two years ago he became paralysed from the abuse.

Mr. Xu was born in 1955. He was six feet tall, in good health, and a successful businessman. When the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started persecuting Falun Gong practitioners in 1999, Mr. Xu went to Beijing to appeal for the right to practise Falun Gong. He was subsequently arrested many times and he eventually lost his business and his family.

When Mr. Xu was imprisoned in 2000 at the Huanxiling Forced Labour Camp in Jilin City, Jilin Province, he was injected with unknown drugs. As a result, his teeth were damaged and he had difficulty eating.

Mr. Xu received a heavy prison sentence in 2002, and was imprisoned in the Jilin Prison,where he was subjected to countless tortures. He was finally released in 2008 because he was paralysed from the abuse.

Mr. Xu was taken to the Yili Garden Senior Centre in Yishan Road, Jilin City, because he had lost both his business and family during the persecution. He was under police surveillance. Officers at the Gaoxin District Police Station did not allow practitioners to visit him. His health continued to deteriorate and Mr. Xu passed away on January 29th, 2010.

Shandong Province Practitioner Ms. Yu Xianlan Dies After Being Persecuted

Ms. Yu Xianlan, 69, a practitioner in Shandong Province, died at around 4:00 a.m. on January 21st, 2010.

Ms. Yu had suffered from persecution since 1999.

Ms. Yu's entire family was arrested in 1999 for appealing in Bejing on April 25th, 1999. Ms. Yu was separated from her family and released after being detained for three days. Three months later, Ms. Yu and her husband were arrested again for appealing on July 20th, 1999. They were detained for a month in the Changping District, Beijing. They were then transferred to Jinan City, Shandong Province, where they were imprisoned for six or seven months and money was extorted from them before they were released.

Over the years, Ms. Yu's home was repeatedly searched. Their three children, as well as their daughter-in-law and son-in-laws have been arrested, sentenced, and imprisoned. Some of the family members are still in prison.
