Mr. Wu Daxing Tortured For Nearly Three Years in Benxi City's Xihu Prison

At around 7:30 p.m. on March 13th, 2007, Mr. Wu Daxing, a practitioner from the Tiexi District of Shenyang City, was arrested by police officer Li Zheng from the Tiexi District, the National Security Team, the head of the Qinggong Neighbourhood Committee Office in the Tiexi District, and other officials. They ransacked his home and confiscated his personal belongings worth in total over ten thousand yuan1, including a DVD burner, a personal computer, a printer, a tape recorder, a new mobile phone, an MP3 player, electronic books, and Falun Gong books.

He was taken to and interrogated at the Tiexi District Qinggong Police Station. Li Zheng and other officers kicked Mr. Wu in the groin area, causing severe bruising. Mr. Wu could not move without pain for two months. They whipped Mr. Wu in the head with leather belts, punched him in the face, pushed him to the ground, and shocked his hands and feet with electric batons until after midnight. The next day, he was forced to give his fingerprint and sign police documents. Later he was transferred to the Shenyang City Detention Centre.

On August 8th, 2007, Mr. Wu was sentenced to three years in prison and taken to Benxi City's Xihu Prison.

During his detention at Xihu Prison, Mr. Wu was forced to sit on a bench that had a pointed surface about ten centimetres tall. He was ordered to sit on it with his hands around his head. It was an extremely painful ordeal. He was forced to recite the prison rules and watch videos defaming Falun Gong and was threatened by guards and inmates, all in an attempt to force him to give up his belief. He was also kicked and beaten. They used wooden sticks and a broom to hit him in the head. He was also forced to do hard labour.

Mr. Wu Daxing was released on December 13th, 2009.
