Ms. Wang Yuping Again Arrested, Her Mother-in-law Dies in Distress

On October 7th, 2009, a kind 76-year-old woman died in Sankeshu Village, Zhangqiang Town, Kangping County, Shenyang City, Liaoning Province. She missed and worried about her daughter-in-law, Ms. Wang Yuping, who was taken to a forced labour camp six days later.

On August 31st, 2009, Ms. Wang Yuping and fellow Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Liu Yanping, went to pass out Falun Gong informational materials in Hubo Village, Tongliao City, Inner-Mongolia Autonomous Region. Police Officer Ge Xin and others arrested them, and took them into custody at the Gonghelia Township Police Station. On the afternoon of September 1st, 2009, they were taken to the Horqin Zuoyi Houqi (Ganjig Prefecture) Domestic Security Division, and later detained in the Wugongli Detention Centre.

On September 6th, Ms. Wang went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution, and she was force-fed in the hospital, which caused her to become very weak. On the morning of September 7th, her husband Mr. Liu Jingming and their relatives, Ms. Liu Yanping's mother travelled over 60 miles to request the unconditional release of Ms. Wang Yuping and Ms. Liu Yanping.

The Domestic Security agents arrested Mr. Liu Jingming's and detained him for 18 days. He was released on September 24th after being extorted for 1,000 yuan1. Ms. Liu Yanping was detained for 24 days, and 5,000 yuan was extorted from her. Both practitioners were cruelly beaten during the detention.

Ms. Wang Yuping was like a daughter to her mother-in-law. After practising Falun Gong, she became even better in her treatment of her mother-in-law. Ms. Wang was sentenced to two years of forced labour in 2000 for going to Beijing to speak out for justice for Falun Gong. She has now been arrested again, which broke her mother-in-law's heart. This elderly woman suddenly had a stroke and died. Just six days later, Ms. Wang was forcibly taken to the Hohhot City Women's Forced Labour Camp for a one-year term.
