Ms. Wang Xiaoying, 31, a Falun Gong practitioner from Shihezi City, Xinjiang Province, was beaten, tortured, and taken to Wujiaqu Women's Forced Labour Camp in Changji City. Her three-and-a-half-year-old daughter cries every day for her mother.

Ms. Wang is a very kind person and always helps others. She is well respected by her neighbours and colleagues. Even the cleaning people in her work place praise her.

On July 26th, 2009, Ms. Wang gave some Falun Gong cards to passengers on the bus from Kuitun City to Gaoquan Village of Wusu City. She was reported to police and arrested from her home. When the policemen arrested her, they offered no lawful document, nor did they identify themselves. They just went in and ransacked the home. A detention document was prepared after the fact, in August.

In No. 124 Regiment Police Station, the director Xu Qing beat Ms. Wang and cuffed her wrists behind back her for more than three hours. Ms. Wang talked about Falun Gong to the police continuously and shouted "Falun Gong is good!" Many people walking outside heard her as a crowd of people gathered. Ms. Wang kept advising the police not to do bad things, but Xu Qing was remorseless and beat her even more. Ms. Wang's arms were injured by the handcuffs and even now, she cannot move them freely.

The next day, Xu Qing handcuffed Ms. Wang very tightly before she was taken to Kuitun. Xu also refused to give the handcuffs key to the guards. During the journey, the handcuffs were so tight that Ms. Wang asked the guards several times to loosen them. But the guards could not do anything without the key until they arrived at Kuitun. As a result, the nerves on Ms. Wang's left hand were damaged and even now her left thumb is numb with no feeling at all.

While held at Kuitun Detention Centre, policemen Ding Xiaohui and Peng Xiao from Ken District, Kuitun tried, unsuccessfully, for two weeks to force a "confession" from Ms. Wang. While there, she was sentenced to two years of forced labour. She was taken to Wujiaqu Women's Forced Labour Camp in Changji directly and her family members were not even notified (by law they should be notified within 24 hours of the sentence).

Ms. Wang has been beaten by the guards in the labour camp. She has protested this abuse by means of a hunger strike.

Ms. Wang is now appealing her case.
