Wei Maoxia and her family has suffered continuous harassment and persecution. Three police officers named Yang Zongzhi, Guo Qingzhong and Jia Jianrong from Yanzhou Domestic Security Division in Shandong have repeatedly searched Wei Maoxia's home several times and have detained her on and off during August and September. Now Wei Maoxia and her son Zhang Chao are being mistreated in a detention centre.

On the afternoon of August 26th, 2009, around 3 p.m., Yang Zongzhi, Guo Qingzhong and Jia Jianrong combed through Wei Maoxia's home. They found a computer outside her daughter-in-law Jiang Guangyan's bedroom, and made a phone call immediately. Soon after that, more than ten police officers broke into her house and arrested Wei Maoxia and Jiang Guangyan. Police officers also monitored her mother-in-law and father-in-law, who were over eighty years old. Other police officers searched her room and took away several things.

At five o'clock in the afternoon, Zhang Chao, Wei Maoxia's son, returned from work. He saw the police officers searching the house and confronted them. Jia Jianrong said, "No matter what it is, it is against the law for Falun Gong practitioners to have it." For no reason, they arrested Zhang Chao. His eighty-year-old grandmother held onto him and shouted, "My grandson only said a word, how could you do this to him? Don't touch my grandson! Leave him alone!" The neighbours were moved to tears by her heart-breaking appeals, but the police officers pretended nothing happened. They forced her to stop and took Zhang Chao away. Jiang Guangyan was sent home at eleven o'clock that evening.

On August 27th, Jia Jianrong and other police officers searched Wei Maoxia's home three times. Wei Maoxia was sent home after three days. She was watched and followed every day. Zhang Chao is still being persecuted in the Yanzhou City Detention Centre.

In the afternoon on September 18th, at around 3 p.m., police officers Jia Jianrong, Yang Zongzhi and Guo Qingzhong came to Wei Maoxia's house where they intimidated and harassed her until five o'clock.

On the afternoon of September 21st, police officers Jia Jianrong, Yang Zongzhi and Guo Qingzhong came to Wei Maoxia's house again to harass her. With her door locked, Wei and her husband didn't open the door no matter how much the police officers knocked. The three climbed onto the roof and intimidated them. They left after about one hour.

In the afternoon on September 27th, the same three officers came to Wei's house with a ladder. They climbed into her house, broke the lock and windows, and arrested Wei Maoxia. Then they searched the house, ransacked it, and took away an MP3 player.

Jia Jianrong also took out a warrant of arrest from the Yanzhou Police Station, stating they formally arrested Wei Maoxia and her son Zhang Chao. Zhang Fengbao's brother was forced to sign the paperwork. Zhang Fengbao is now homeless to avoid further persecution.
