Around 10:00 a.m. on September 22nd, 2009, while Doctor Zhou Jun of the Rushan City People's Hospital in Shandong Province was working as usual in her office, a group of people came to her office, claiming they were from the Domestic Security Division and the Shangyejie Police Station. Without showing any IDs, they searched her desk, took her away, and put her in the Rushan Detention Centre.

Ms. Zhou is a doctor. She learned about Falun Gong by chance from a previous patient. Out of curiosity, she read the Falun Gong book, Zhuan Falun and found it very good. She decided to follow the teachings in the book to become a better person. After she started cultivating, she followed Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance in everything she did. In contrast to the corrupt practice in current society, she never accepted extra money from patients, yet she took good care of them in every possible way. She did very well even in minor details, but she never showed off. People who know her all say that she is a kind and upright person.

The police took her away because she told others that "Falun Gong is good." The police also forced her husband to go home with them and ransacked their place as well.

This is not the first time regime agents have persecuted Dr. Zhou. In March 2004, she was arrested and had 5000 yuan1 extorted from her because she wouldn't give up her belief. She was subjected to brainwashing at the Shangdong No.2 Women's Forced Labour Camp.

Dr. Zhou's husband, Fan Shili, is a key surgeon in the hospital.
