At 2 p.m. on September 18th, 2009, a court in Linghe District, Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province, convened a hearing for Ms. Wang Lige, a Falun Gong practitioner who taught English at the Jinzhou City Secondary Middle School.

From information provided by an eye-witness, Ms. Wang, who was tortured to the point of being in critical condition, was carried into the courtroom. She fainted as soon as she sat down. Chief judge Zhou Jun let Ms Wang lie on the floor, then hastily read the court verdict: four years in prison. Ms Wang was unconscious throughout the entire proceedings.

The court didn't notify Ms. Wang' attorney, which was a clear violation of legal procedures, depriving her of her lawful rights and interests.

Due to the court's verdict, Ms. Wang's family sought out Wang Jinwen, the criminal court vice presiding judge. Wang Jinwen falsely alleged that they had contacted Ms. Wang's attorney and that the attorney didn't appear. He also lied about Ms. Wang's health. In fact, Ms. Wang's attorney had never received any notice from the court. Ms. Wang' attorney and her family are enraged about this act.
