The International Truth-Compassion-Forbearance Art Exhibition was held in two places at the same time - the Taipower in Pingtung and Chang Gung University in Taoyuan. The exhibitions featured art works by Chinese and Western painters that are Falun Gong practitioners.

The exhibition at Chang Gung University was held from September 19th to 26th, 2009. It was arranged by students from the Falun Gong Association and by doctors from Chang Gung Memorial Hospital. The University provided the location and sponsored the making of the posters.

Viewers listen to explanations about the paintings Ms. Wang says that people shouldn't be indifferent anymore

Mr. Cong came to the exhibition on his way to take his children to school. He said that some of the paintings gave him a peaceful feeling. He couldn't believe that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) was so cruel. "The practitioners did not endanger anyone, why does the CCP torture them?" Mr. Cong knew Falun Gong was outlawed in China before he saw the paintings but did not know what exactly happened in the persecution. He said that the paintings made him feel comfortable and tranquil.

Professor Liu from Shih Chien University enjoyed every painting that the guide introduced. He understood the persecution of Falun Gong because his research was about the CCP. "The persecution is always underground. I have met many practitioners overseas. I've told my relatives in China about the benefits of Falun Gong. They've helped spread the word, fearless of the CCP's persecution. The CCP gets scared whenever there is a group with more followers than members of the CCP and will do anything to surpress it."

Liu continued, "Every painting has its greater deeper meanings and moves me. Falun Gong is a belief that is different from religions. The practitioners are in every way promoting the beauty of the practice. It's not easy, and I hope they continue."

Ms. Qin is a dentist. She thought some of the paintings were photographs because they were so real to her. "This exhibition expands my mind and my world. Falun Gong practitioners manifest great compassion. They try to tell people the truth while they suffer from the persecution, which is not easy."

The exhibition was held from September 16th to October 9th at the Taipower in Pingtung. Political figures and staff members from the power company joined the opening ceremony.

Mr. Lin is the Deputy Chief of the Taipower Business Division. He has an academic background in art. His paintings are often hung in the company hallways. He thought highly of the art work in the exhibition. He was happy to see that, by holding the art exhibition, Falun Gong practitioners are encouraging people to practise virtue and warning people not to commit bad deeds.

Mr. Hong is the Secretary of the Pingtung Assembly. He said he thought that he had been through a war of evil and righteousness after seeing the paintings and appreciated the kindness of Falun Gong. He said that, when he returned, he would suggest that the Pingtung Assembly host the art exhibition, too.

Ms. Wang learned about the exhibition from the Epoch Times newspaper. She invited her good friend to come along. "Every painting shook me, especially "Tears of an Orphan." People shouldn't be indifferent anymore now that they know what is happening."
