Falun Dafa practitioners in Russia, Ukraine, Belorussia, Moldova, Latvia, Sweden, and the Czech Republic held a Falun Dafa Experience Sharing Conference in Moscow from September 19 to 20, 2009. Practitioners shared their experiences of cultivation and participating in activities exposing the persecution of Falun Gong.

New practitioners said they gained a lot from the sharing and felt the strong energy and their fellow practitioners' compassion.

A man told his miraculous story of becoming a practitioner. He entered a monastery when he was 26. He often went to bed after 11:00 p.m. and got up before 5 a.m. He kept pursuing the Fa through hard cultivation. He ran across Zhuan Falun (the main text of Falun Gong practice) in Russia by chance one day. He realised he had finally found the righteous law and answers to his questions. He learned why he was able to cure certain diseases and saw clearly that monasteries weren't the place for cultivation. Since then he has started spreading Falun Dafa in monasteries in Russia and Ukraine. Many of his former patients learned to practice through him. Although he looks like he is in his 30s or 40s, he is actually 62.

Ms. Tamara, one of the organisers of the conference, said that, despite the Chinese Communist Party's spreading of lies about Falun Gong, practitioners in Russia overcame interference and have persevered in exposing the persecution. Like melting ice, different government entities have learned the truth and made the right choices.

She recalled that the Security Department in Russia sent more than 40 special agents and several police cars to try to stop the Falun Dafa Conference in 2007. But this year's conference took place without any interference.

After learning about the persecution of Falun Gong in China, the manager of the conference facility said, "I can see through my contact with them they are a group of people pursuing Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance. How can the security department 'be on guard' against them? They should support them. The idea of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is the hope of restoring morality in society."

After the conference, some practitioners commented that cultivation in everyday life and helping Master save sentient beings is like sailing against the tide: he who does not advance will lose ground. "We should encourage each other, make advancements together, and not let our Master down."
