Li Daixi, director of the Taegu Art Association, spoke at the opening ceremony at 6:00 p.m. on August 25th. He talked about the information the art exhibition was trying to convey. "Through suffering from persecution, (Falun Gong) practitioners still yearn for freedom and search for compassion and peace," said Li. Li saw the exhibition last year and he hoped more people could come to the exhibition and have their spirits purified.

Guo Daxun, chief of the Dalseo District of Taegu, sent a congratulatory letter. In the letter, Guo conveyed his best wishes for the art exhibition.

Ni Yingdong, chairman of the Dalseo District Assembly, also sent a congratulatory letter. He congratulated the opening of the art exhibition and wished the Falun Dafa Association a good future and that all of its wishes come true. In the end he wished the exhibition a great success.

Two girls from a nearby high school came to see the exhibition because they were impressed by the little girl in a poster they saw. The girl was in one of the paintings. After they saw all the paintings and understood the meanings in the artworks, one said, "These paintings are extraordinary. This is the first time we heard of the persecution happening in China. It's too shocking and too brutal."

People from all walks of life came to see the exhibition, including housewives, teachers, and students, young and old. Most people weren't aware of the human rights violations in China that are hidden behind its economic boom. Many signed a petition calling for an end to the persecution of Falun Gong.

The exhibition will be held next in Busan.
