Mr. Wang Xinchun is a Falun Gong practitioner in Jixi City, Heilongjiang Province. In the No. 2 Detention Centre of Jixi City, the guards tortured him, attempting to force him to make a "confession." As a result of the abuse, his face swelled up, his mouth bled, one could see the white of his skull, and he fell unconscious. Presently, he is receiving emergency treatment in a hospital.

Since the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) launched the persecution against Falun Gong on July 20th, 1999, Mr. Wang has suffered severe persecution while in custody four times.

At 4 a.m. on May 14th, 2009, Yu Hong Bin and Lu Zhimin of the Hongxing Township Police Station led a group of policemen and knocked down Mr. Wang's iron gate. They broke into his home and arrested Mr. Wang, his wife Ms. Wei Guijun, his tenant Ms. Meng and her daughter. They also seized a leather bag, two bags of articles, and more than 10,000 yuan1 in cash that belonged to Mr. Wang.

Some neighbours questioned, "Why did you make the arrest?" The police officers claimed that they are involved in prostitution and posted anti-CCP posters. The neighbours recognized that the officers were spreading lies since they knew that Mr. Wang's family are good people who follow the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.

At that time, the officers also plotted to arrest Mr. Wang's 19-year-old daughter. However, the police held off on arresting her so that she could take care of her grandmother who was paralysed and bedridden. Due to the terror she suffered, she felt afraid when she heard people speaking outside and did not dare to go outside. Thus, she could not provide her grandmother with her daily needs. Finally, Mr. Wang's brother picked up the grandmother. Mr. Wang's daughter was a student in the Hengshan Fourth High School and was facing the college entrance examination. She was not able to continue her studies and one of her relatives picked her up to look after her.

Later, the officers went to Mr. Wang's workplace, a cleaning equipment store, and seized his work computer and printer.

When his wife was arrested, she was deprived of food for a day. Later, she was sentenced to one year of forced labour.
