On April 19th, 2007, five to six people suddenly broke into the home of Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zhao Mujun in Hegang City of Heilongjiang Province. They shoved Ms. Zhao into the police car and took her to the Tuanjielu Police Station in Hegang City.

Personnel of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) interrogated and tortured Ms. Zhao, but none of their tactics were successful in forcing her to give in. So they took her to the No. 2 Detention Centre. Ms. Zhao was covered with injuries on her wrists, arms, back, buttocks and legs. Everyone at the torture scene could see it. Later, Ms. Zhao was unjustly sentenced to two years in a forced labour camp.

Ms. Zhao's husband, Chai Qingshun, had suffered a stroke 15 years ago and she had been taking care of him. Since his wife was taken away, Mr. Chai had no one that could take care of him. He died without seeing his wife one last time.

Ms. Zhao's arrest and sentencing was a big blow to her father, Mr. Zhao Hongzhen. He passed away shortly after Ms. Zhao's sentencing.
