On May 23rd, 2009, Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Li Ming died at Daqing Prison. Mr. Li's father-in-law is Du Yude. Du Yude's other son-in-law, Mr. Yu Huaicai died from persecution at Changlinzi Forced Labour Camp in 2007. Mr. Du's daughter Du Xiuzhi, Li Ming's wife, is currently incarcerated at Harbin Women's Prison.

Mr. Yu Huaicai was a Falun Gong practitioner from Hulan District, Harbin City. He was arrested on November 15th, 2006 and was later sentenced to one year at Changlinzi Forced Labour Camp. On February 19th, 2007, He went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution. As a result, he was brutally force-fed by the guards, causing non-stop bleeding from his mouth and nose. The director of Changlinze, Shi Yingbai, the captain of Brigade 5, Wang Kai, and Assistant Captain Qiang Shengguo knew that Mr. Yu was on the brink of death, yet they refused to release him and continued to persecute him. Mr. Yu died on the afternoon of April 22nd, 2007 at the age of 42. He had been a healthy man, 1.91 metres tall and weighed over 261 lbs. At the time of his death, he only weighted about 100 lbs.

Mr. Li Ming and his wife Ms. Du Xiuzhi were both arrested on the same day at the end of 2004. Li Ming was arrested from his workplace while his wife was taken from their home. They were both sentenced to eight years in prison. Li Ming was sent to Daqing Prison, and Du Xiuzhi was sent to Harbin Women's Prison. In the past few years, Li Ming was badly tortured by the guards and could no longer walk on his own. When his son visited him during Chinese New Year this year, he was carried in by others and had difficulty breathing and talking. Prison officials refused to release him. In addition, the prison guards would not provide food for him because he refused to put on a prison uniform [Note: Because practitioners have committed no crimes and should not be incarcerated, they sometimes protest the persecution and detention by refusing to wear the prison uniform].

Assistant Captain of Brigade 7, Daqin Prison, Chang Ming: 86-13936991999(Mobile).
