Before I practised Falun Gong, I suffered from more than 20 physical ailments, such as heart problems, severe rheumatism, eye problems, thigh bone necrosis on both sides, and epilepsy, to name a few. After I started the practice in 1999, the thigh bone on my left side returned to normal, and the right side improved greatly. Other diseases disappeared as though I had never had them. I was so relaxed, both physically and mentally. However, such a good practice was persecuted by the communist regime. Suddenly, the good people who followed the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance were regarded as criminals.

Early in the morning of January 9th, 2004, several police officers broke into my home. They took all my Falun Gong books, CDs, tape players and more than 10,000 yuan1 in cash that I had saved for my son's wedding. Due to the extreme brutality of the police while I was being arrested, one of the bones under my right knee was broken, causing me to suffer extreme pain. I was first detained at the No. 2 Detention Centre of Harbin City and suffered six months of brutal tortures there. On August 4th, 2004, I was sentenced to prison and was sent to Heilongjiang Province Women's Prison.

I suffered indescribable tortures while being held at the Women's Prison. The procedure for persecuting Falun Gong practitioners was to have four criminal inmates designated to monitor one practitioner. We were scolded and beaten every single day and were not allowed to have a good sleep at night. We were watched even when we used the toilet. This mental and physical persecution caused my health to deteriorate. The thigh bone necrosis condition returned, plus I developed symptoms of osteoporosis. I suffered in extreme pain and barely subsisted in staying alive each day. Finally my physical condition became so bad that I was almost unable to walk and I couldn't take care of my own physical needs. Because my condition had deteriorated so badly, I was allowed to go home, but only after I was extorted for 5,000 yuan. On November 6th, 2006, I was taken back home by my family.

On April 26th, 2007, the local police and prison guards suddenly broke into my home and took me to the prison once again, this time using the pretext of giving me a medical examination. While there, the convicted murderer Xu Zhen and others tortured me most brutally. They often put some unknown drugs into my food. I was forced to sit and watch TV programmes that slandered Falun Gong. The prison guards and the criminal Xu Zhen acted in collusion with each other and tried to forcefully "transform2" practitioners. They used all kinds of methods to intensify the persecution against me.

Once, when I saw Xu Zhen putting some unknown drugs into my food, I questioned why she did such a thing. She said that it was permitted to do so. She did this several times. After I had eaten the food she had thus poisoned, I would often be unable to breathe. My heart would race, and I felt uncomfortable and restless. I had difficulty thinking, and I was unable to speak. Often I was in semi-comatose state for days.

Once, I was sent to that hospital and stayed in a small room. Xu Zhen was still assigned to monitor me. When I protested having her stay in the same room with me, in such close quarters, the guard just ignored me. With the guard supporting her actions, Xu Zhen continued to put unknown drugs into my food. When I pointed out their despicable conduct, they then forcibly began to inject unknown substances into me. Each time they injected me, there would be a nail-size red spot appearing at the injection site. After such long-term torture, my body showed symptoms of severe sickness. Sometimes I would become unconscious. Once, when a guard forced me to sit on the floor, I even had the symptoms of having a heart attack.

I have suffered inhuman torture and abuse in Heilongjiang Women's Prison, day and night, repeatedly. It is really hard to describe the extent of it in words. However my experiences are just the tip of the iceberg of the persecution being carried out against Falun Gong practitioners at this prison.
