Yuhe Police Station officers in Weifang City arrested practitioners and also extorted money from them. In addition, the police ransacked the practitioners' homes and did not even have a search warrant. At 7:00 p.m. on October 29th, 2008, officer Zou Shaoping and a gang of his colleagues from the Yuhe Police Station barged into the residence of practitioner Ms. Li Shuqin. They confiscated a Falun Gong copy, one MP3 player, 2 tape players, and 2 sets of exercise music cassette tapes. They took Ms. Li Shuqin to Yuhe Police Station and incarcerated her. The police tried to extort twenty thousand yuan1 from her family but did not succeed. Because the family did not agree to their demands, the persecutors dragged Ms. Li to Yuhe Hospital for a blood test, blood pressure test, and electrocardiogram. While undergoing the electrocardiogram, Li Shuqin had a heart attack. Her whole body twitched. Even so, the police still took her to the Weifang City Detention Centre.

The police continued to threaten her family members and said that if they did not hand over the money they would send Li Shuqin somewhere else. Because her family could not withstand the threats, they gave in to the extortion and handed over 10,000 yuan. Ms. Li was finally released on November 11th, 2008, thirteen days after being taken into custody. She showed symptoms of illness.

At 7:00 a.m. on October 29th, 2008, additional officers led police from the Weicheng Police Station and barged into the residence of practitioner Kao Jingyun at Yangjiazhuang Village in Yuhe Town. They arrested Kao Jingyun and took away five Falun Gong books, one MP3 player, one cassette tape recorder, one music jukebox, and 20 boxes of incense joss sticks. When the family members could not withstand the threats, they gave in and paid 10,000 yuan in extortion. Kao Jingyun was incarcerated at the Weifang Detention Centre for 13 days before being released.

During the morning of October 25th, 2008, practitioner Ms. Chen Yueqin distributed leaflets explaining the truth about Falun Gong at a Yuhe market gathering. Plain clothes agents from the Yuhe Town Police Station tailed her. She was arrested and taken to the police station. At around 11:00 a.m., five officers snatched her keys, went to her house, and ransacked it. They took away Falun Gong materials and books and Chen Yueqin's newly acquired laptop computer. Her mother interfered and did not want them to confiscate the computer. The officers said they would check the computer and return it later.

In the afternoon, they took Ms. Chen Yueqin to a hospital for blood tests, a blood pressure test, and an electrocardiogram. That afternoon at 5:00 p.m. they extorted thirty thousand yuan from her before letting her go. When her family asked for the return of the computer, members of the National Security Team in the Weicheng District extorted another thousand yuan from them before they got their computer back.
