Mr .Ding Guohua, in his 60s, is retired and lives in Mengcheng County, Anhui Province. On May 26th, 2008, the Mengcheng County 610 Office1, police, and community administration arrested him and imprisoned him in a detention centre. In August 2008, he was taken to Nanhu Forced Labour Camp in Xuancheng City. In less than six months, he went from being healthy to being bedridden due to the brutal mistreatment.

Nanhu Forced Labour Camp is where Falun Gong practitioners in Anhui Province are severely persecuted. Practitioners detained there have to endure hard labour for 16 hours per day, from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m., and the food is cold even in the wintertime. Due to the extra-heavy hard labour and severe living conditions, Mr. Ding soon became very sick, but the guards still forced him to work until he was bedridden.

Mr. Ding's family heard that he was very sick and went to visit him, but the camp administration refused to let them see each other. One week later after his family came, the guards saw that Mr Ding was dying, and allowed his family to pick him up. Soon after he returned home, he died on January 13th, 2009.

Note

1. "The 610 office" is an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems.
