Officials at Qinghai Women's Forced Labour Camp have recently failed in their attempts to "transform1" Falun Gong practitioner Li Leye. They subsequently sent two officers to the workplaces of Ms. Li's family members to threaten them. They also demanded the home addresses of her other relatives. After failing to achieve their goals, the two officers threatened, "If you don't tell us, we'll return every day."

Ms. Li Leye, 42, is also known as Li Zhi. She is honest and always willing to help other people. After knowing her, the people close to her all say, "Falun Gong practitioners are reliable." Through cultivation, Ms. Li has developed compassion as well as forbearance.

Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials have nonetheless arrested this good person and sent her to a forced labour camp. On the afternoon of July 22nd, 2008, Ms. Li suddenly disappeared. It was later confirmed she had been arrested by police and detained at Qinghai Women's Forced Labour Camp. In attempts to "transform" her, guards used intensive brainwashing methods and brutally tortured her, both physically and mentally. Members of her family tried to visit her several times, but were turned away. The authorities have now begun harassing and threatening her family.

Note

1. "Reform or Transform" Implementation of brainwashing and torture in order to force a practitioner to renounce Falun Gong. (Variations: "reform", "transform", "reformed", "reforming", "transformed", "transforming", and "transformation")
