When I first heard about Falun Gong. I thought it was something similar to Qigong or Tai Chi. I saw in front of me lots of people who together practised different movements. Next time was through TV and media, where I learned it was forbidden in China. When I was asked if I wanted to open a Falun Dafa day in the Bishopyard (a district in Gothenberg), I got to find out some facts about Falun Gong for myself.

Falun Gong, also called Falun Dafa, is a type of Qigong to cultivate body and soul. It is five simple movements for strengthening and purifying the body. The essential in the method is Zhen, Shan, Ren, Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance, that helps practitioners to find inner harmony. It teaches practitioners to improve themselves and be good people in all situations. Falun Dafa is focusing on heart-nature, morals, virtue, knowledge, and helps practitioners to gradually get rid of all negative sides. The method is non-commercial and is now practised in over 50 countries.

Falun Gong has brought happiness to so many parts of the world, through a rise in morals and health, and we hope that this event in our district. That’s why the 15th of May will be returning every year as Falun Gong day in Bishopyard. With these words I declare this day open.
