Shuangyashan City Court Plans to Sentence Older Practitioners Ms. Wang Yaojun and Ms. Guo Shuzhen

The Jianshan District Court in Shuangyashan City, Heilongjiang Province, plans to sentence Ms. Wang Yaojun and Ms. Guo Shuzhen, both over 60, on November 26th, 2008. In addition, on November 18th, Ms. Guo's daughter and eight other Falun Gong practitioners were sentenced by the Baoqing County Court in Shuangyashan City.

Ms. Wang Yaojun and Ms. Guo Shuzhen, both practitioners, were arrested on January 7th, 2008, by Han Xiaoqiu, deputy director of the Shuangshan Police Station in Shuangyashan City. Police officers Peng Jianqiu, Hongwei, and others assisted. The two women have been held in the Shuangyashan City Detention Centre for over ten months. In June 2008, Guo Shuzhen's daughter, Ms. Tian Xiaoxuan, was arrested by officers from the Baoqing Police Station in Shuangyashan City.

Ms. Wang Yaojun, about 67, lives in the Xiangyang Community in the Jianshan District of Shuangyashan City, Heilongjiang Province, which is under the jurisdiction of the Shuangshan Police Station in the Jianshan District.

On the morning of January 7th, Ms. Wang was apprehended when she was out. At about 11 a.m., witnesses saw police break into her house and move about ten cardboard boxes filled with stuff into a police car.

In Shuangshan Police Station, officers tried to coerce Ms. Wang Yaojun into writing a statement to give up Falun Gong, but she refused. She was then handcuffed and shackled with over 40 pounds of chains. She was tortured into giving confessions for three days and two nights. Her eyes were battered and turned black. Her legs were beaten, too, and she could not even climb into the bed that was about 20 centimetres high.

On the afternoon of January 7th, 2008, her grandson, about eight or nine years old, could not get into the house after school. He was waiting for his grandma to return, but officers waiting outside of Ms. Wang's home took him to the police station. They did not allow him to go home for a long time. They threatened him and ordered him to divulge who had communicated with his grandma. He revealed the name of Ms. Guo Shuzhen's daughter, Tian Xiaoxuan, who is also called Tian Qi. Two days later, officers from Shuangshan Police Station went to Ms. Tian's home and arrested her family members.

Ms. Guo Shuzhen, about 60, lives in Gongdian Courtyard in the Jianshan District of Shuangyashan City, Heilongjiang Province, which is under the jurisdiction of the Shuangshan Police Station in the Jianshan District.

At 9:30 a.m. on January 9th, 2008, the police broke into her home in Gongdian Courtyard, ransacked it, and confiscated 7,000 yuan1 in cash. The police arrested her and three of her relatives. Afterwards her relatives were released, but Ms. Guo was taken to the Shuangyashan City Detention Centre.

In June 2008, Ms. Guo's daughter, Ms. Tian Xiaoxuan, was taken away by officers from Baoqing Police Station, Shuangyashan City. On November 18th, Ms. Tian and eight other practitioners were sentenced by Baoqing County Court.

During the Olympic Games, three seniors in their 60s from Shuangyashan City--Dong Mingfen, Ms. Wang Yaojun and Ms. Guo Shuzhen--were arrested and tortured. Dong Mingfen was sentenced to three years in prison on November 11th. Now the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) plans to sentence Ms. Wang and Ms. Guo.

Director Li Yanchun of the Shuangyashan Public Security Bureau and Director Zou Dekuan of the 610 Office2 in Shuangyashan City are responsible for these unlawful proceedings. Police officer Peng Jianqiu also actively participated.

2. "The 610 office" is an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems.
