Prior to the Olympic Games, every prison in Beijing was completely full. As a result, the police transferred practitioners to forced labour camps in distant provinces.

Due to the fact that Mr. Li Laifang and fellow practitioners from Dingxing County, Hebei Province persisted in practising Falun Gong, they were arrested by police in Tong County, Beijing, and taken to the Masanjia Forced Labour Camp in Liaoning Province. Each time Mr. Li's father went to the camp to visit his son, the guards would turn him away.

On June 3rd, 2008, Ms. Zhang Lianying from Pingfang Township, Chaoyang District was arrested by officer Zhang of the Pingfang Township Local Police Station and several Chinese Communist party personnel. Because she would not give up her belief in Falun Gong, Ms. Zhang was taken to the Xi'an City Forced Labour Camp in Shaanxi Province. Ms. Zhang's family was unable to obtain any news about her until Ms. Zhang mailed a letter from the Xi'an Forced Labour Camp (which is very far away from Beijing) to one of her family members, asking for clothes and other personal necessities.

Ms. Wu Ming from Shunyi District had suffered from a serious liver disease for many years. After practising Falun Gong for a short while, and without taking any medicine, all symptoms of the disease disappeared, saving her tens of thousands of yuan1 in medical expenses. However, due to the persecution she suffered at the Beijing Women's Forced Labour Camp, she suffered a relapse of her old disease.

Later she was taken to a police department hospital and brutally persecuted for over ten days. As the Olympics were approaching, Ms. Wu and others were taken to the Taiyuan City Forced Labour Camp in Shanxi Province.

Ms. Xu Xiuzhi from Shunyi District was taken to Hubei Province while Ms. Xu Huizhen, the younger sister of a practitioner from Shunyi District Ms. Xu Chengzao, was transferred to Jilin Province. Ms. Wang Yue from Beijing was taken to a forced labour camp in Hohhot City in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.

Ms. Zhang Lianying (former registered Accountant of Guangda Group Corporation) and Ms. Liu Guijin from Shunyi District were transferred to the Third Team of the Women's Division of the Masanjia Forced Labour Camp in Shenyang City. Because Ms. Liu would not renounce her belief in Falun Gong, the guards would not allow her family members to see her.

In November 2008, due to Ms. Liu's husband's insistent demands, he was finally allowed to have a telephone conversation with his wife. During the call, she earnestly asked him to help rescue her.

We hope that kind people everywhere will pay attention to the Chinese communist regime's persecution of Falun Gong and help put an end to this senseless persecution against a peaceful group of people following the principle of Truth-Compassion-Forbearance.
