Mr. Wu Buo is a Falun Gong practitioner from Changtu County, Liaoning Province. On October 1st, 2008, policemen from the Changtu County National Security Brigade and Daxing Township Police Station broke into his home at around 8 p.m., arrested his wife, Ms. Zou Dongmei, and detained her at the county detention centre. Zou Dongme is not a Falun Gong practitioner. This was the second time she was arrested this year.

Right now is the busy harvest season for farmers, but Wu Buo and his wife cannot attend to their crops. Wu Buo was forced to leave home to avoid further persecution. Their daughter is only 10 years old and goes to the local elementary school.

On March 7th, 2008, under the pretence of making "follow up visits," "safeguarding the two conferences,"(i.e. Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) National People's Congress and The Political Consultation Conference) and "maintaining stability during the Olympic Games," the former police chief of Daxing Township Police Station, Zhao Yonggang, the deputy police chief, Tong Guojun, and policeman Liu Haijun forced their way into homes of several practitioners from Bianjia Village.

The police asked practitioner Mr. Sun Guongxue whether he would go to Beijing during the Olympic Games. Sun said, "I'm not sure." They arrested him based on this response. Later, they arrested another practitioner, Ms. Yang Xinping, and searched her home. Ms. Yang was tortured and detained. Both Mr. Sun and Ms. Yang were sentenced to one year of forced labour. On April 14th, Ms. Yang was sent to the notorious Masanjia Forced Labour Camp.

On that same day, at around 8 p.m., the police broke into homes of Wu Buo and another practitioner, climbing over courtyard walls to gain entry. Wu Buo was not at home, so the police took his wife, Zou Dangmei, to the police station, with no apparent reason and without going through any legal procedures. Zou Dongmei was detained at the police station until the next day.

On March 9th, the police chief, his deputy and another policeman went to another practitioner's home in Chenjia Village, Daxing Township. They asked the practitioner whether she still practises Falun Gong and threatened her that bad things would come to her if she continued to distribute Falun Gong materials. They searched her home without a search warrant. The next day, they went to her home again to harass her.

A practitioner from outside China called the police chief, Zhao Yonggang, to tell him the truth about Falun Gong and the persecution. He refused to listen and said that he would not release Yang Xinping and Sun Guoxue. In less than 10 days, Zhao Yonggang was dismissed from his police chief position and stopped working.
