In 1868, Mrs. Smith grew a new brand of apple - the Granny Smith Apple on her farm in Eastwood. The festival is in memory of her.

Almost 100 groups, including bands, apple farmers, dance teams, and drum teams, attended the parade, which showcased multiculturalism in Australia.

The Diving Land Marching Band and waist drum team, both consisting of Falun Gong practitioners, performed in the parade. Following the band and drum team, practitioners demonstrated the exercises and performed traditional Chinese dances.

The host of the parade introduced Falun Gong to the spectators briefly, while the city council member on the stage waved to practitioners.

During the parade, practitioners passed out many truth-clarifying materials and told people about the persecution. Many Australians signed petitions in support of Falun Gong practitioners' efforts to end the persecution in China.
