Based on news from mainland China, on May 12th, while the Chinese central TV station was broadcasting a programme to slander Falun Gong on the daily news, the broadcast was suspended for three minutes. As the programming technology was set up to "Connect every village satellite broadcast TV", this suspension benefitted many provinces. Included were Inner Mongolia, Yunnan, Sichuan, Guizhou, Chongqing, Henan, Hunan, Qinghai, Shaanxi and Gansu.

The "Connecting every village" programming is a crucial project of the Chinese National Broadcast and Telecommunications Bureau.

Its sole purpose is to spread the Party's voice to remote areas through satellite transmissions.
