Mr. Zhao Peijie was from Xiaonigou Village, Datong Town, Rongcheng City, Shandong Province. He was detained in a mental hospital by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) for two years and became mentally ill as a result. Afterwards, he wandered around for several years. On June 28th, 2008, when his younger sister was getting married, he passed away in the wilderness at the age of 32.

Mr. Zhao graduated from the polytechnic school in Rongcheng City. He began to practise Falun Gong in 1997. After the CCP launched the persecution of Falun Gong on July 20th, 1999, he was reported to police when he went to a fellow practitioner's home in Madao Town to run errands. He was arrested by police officers from Madao Town Police Station and taken back to Datong Town Police Station. During his detention, he was barbarically beaten by police officers.

In October 2000, Mr. Zhao went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. In Tiananmen Square, he unfurled banners to tell people about the injustice Falun Gong has suffered. He was arrested by police officers in the Square, and taken back to Rongcheng City Detention Centre, where he was hung in the air and tortured by the guards. After half a month, he was transferred to a mental hospital and detained there for four months.

In the autumn of 2001, Mr. Zhao went to a fellow practitioner's home to handle some affairs. He was arrested and taken to a mental hospital again. He was abused in the hospital for two years. Moreover, he was forced to take some medicine which destroyed his central nervous system. As a result, the once healthy and lively young man became a disabled person who could not take care of himself and was mentally ill.

Mr. Zhao's mother had already died. His father and stepmother were deceived by the CCP's propaganda. Instead of providing medical treatment to him, they expelled him from their home. He had to wander around, suffering through hunger, cold and abuse. He was utterly destroyed. On June 28th, 2008, he passed away in the wilderness.
