Between 1:00 a.m. to 3:00 a.m. on July 29th, 2008, Li Hongde, director of Jiaojie Township Police Station, A'cheng District, Harbin City and several police officers tried to arrest Falun Gong practitioners who were distributing leaflets exposing the persecution and telling people the facts about Falun Gong. Gunshots were fired by the police during the arrest. Practitioners Zhu Yumei and Wang Kun were taken into custody.

At the police station, A'cheng district 610 Office1 and the Domestic Security Division police officers interrogated both practitioners. They also searched the home of one of the practitioners. In order to press charges against the practitioners, the police included leaflets exposing the persecution of Falun Gong to use as "evidence."

Both practitioners are currently detained at the A'cheng No. 2 Detention Centre. It was rumoured that the officials from the local "610 office" and the Domestic Security Division are trying to make a big deal out of this case.

The Chinese Communist Party is intensifying the persecution of Falun Gong using the Olympics as an excuse.

We ask the international community and organizations to pay attention to this ongoing case.
