Police officers from the National Security Division, the Dehui City Department, and Hongqi Station went to the home of Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Da Jun at 9:00 p.m. on February 27th, 2008. They ransacked the home, and took personal property and cash. Mr. Da, his wife Ms. Wang Changying, and their two-year-old son were arrested.

Mr. Da, 35, is a technician at the Digital Control Workshop of the Bingchuan Beer Plant in Yanji City (located in Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture, Jilin Province). His mother Ms. Wen Shuqin was tortured to death in 2001. Mr. Da once went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong and was arrested. He held a hunger strike to protest his arrest and was released some time later. In 2001, he was again taken away, this time to a brainwashing centre in Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture. Mr. Da was able to escape, but was then forced to leave his home to avoid being arrested.

In November 2002, Mr. Da was arrested in Dehui City by police officers in Luyuan District, Changchun City. He was taken to Changchun City where he was detained and tortured. While being transfered to Dehui City from Changchun City, he jumped from the vehicle along a highway not far away from Dehui City. He was severely hurt from the fall, and the police officers took him to Dehui City Hospital. They ordered that his wounds be stitched up quickly without proper treatment. The officers ordered the doctors to perform the stitching without using anaesthetics, to see whether he was "pretending" to be hurt. Afterwards, he was directly taken from Dehui City Hospital to Changchun City. There the officers found that he was in critical condition and took him to Changchun City Hospital. Because it was after midnight, the police officers wanted to finish up and go home. The two officers did the hospital paperwork in a rush and left him alone in a room. Mr. Da subsequently escaped.

Over five years later, on February 27th, 2008, Mr. Da was arrested. He has since been held at the Dehui City Detention Centre.

Ms. Wang Changying, 31, went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong in 2000. She was arrested and released 30 days later. In November 2002, she was arrested by officers from the First Division of the Changchun City Police Department, and the Dehui City Police Department. Ms. Wang went on a hunger strike to protest her arrest. Personnel from the Dehui City Detention Centre sent out notices that Ms. Wang was in "critically ill" condition five times. When her condition was dire, she was taken to the Dehui Chinese Medicine Hospital to receive emergency treatment. Police officials didn't care that Ms. Wang was critically ill and refused to release her on medical bail. Ms. Wang had no other choice but to escape from the third floor of the hospital, on the fortieth day of her hunger strike. She didn't return home so as to avoid being arrested. Her salary was withheld by the police.

On February 27th, 2008, Ms. Wang was arrested again and taken to the Dehui City Detention Centre. Because of her health condition, she was released on bail for medical treatment seven days after she was detained. Police officers at the Dehui City Police Department planned to have her tried and sentenced. Ms. Wang has now been forced again to leave home to avoid being tortured. She has no earnings and is the mother of a two-year-old. Her only earnings have been withheld and used by police from the National Security Division of the Dehui City Police Department and Hongqi Station.
