On April 25, 2002, Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Li Jian was tortured to death in Henan Province No. 3 Labour Camp. He was 34 years old.
Li Jian was a resident of Zhengyang County, Henan Province. He was a lawyer. He was kidnapped and illegally sentenced to three years of forced labour because he made truth clarification materials. The authorities arrested him in 2000 and sent him to the No. 3 Labour Camp in Xuchang City, Henan Province in late April 2001.
During the period of his detention in Team 1, Division 3 of the labour camp, he suffered inhumane treatment. He was tortured on numerous occasions with rope and endured compulsory brainwashing. He was deprived of sleep and forced to do heavy labour, not being allowed to rest until he finished his assigned work. He suffered tremendous physical and psychological torture. He was young at the time he died and in perfect health, yet the labour camp officials were shameless enough to claim that he died from sudden illness.

Dafa Practitioner Tortured to Death in Nanhu Farm Labour Camp in Xuancheng City, Anhui Province
The Nanhu Farm Labour Camp in Xuancheng City, Anhui Province illegally detained four Dafa practitioners in Team 1 of Squad 9.
The four practitioners have been on a hunger strike for over twenty days to protest the persecution. One of them (a 48-year-old male practitioner) was tortured to death on May 2. Detailed information about this practitioner is has not yet been obtained. The situation of the other three practitioners is not yet known.
