Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Meng Qinglin, who is in his sixties, is from Changchun, Jilin Province. He has once again been sent to a forced labour camp. This is the fourth time Mr. Meng has been detained by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Mr. Meng is currently being held the First Division of Weizigou Forced Labour Camp in Changchun. Division Chief Li and others have hung him by his handcuffed wrists and poured cold water on him, among other inhuman tortures.

He was sentenced to one year in a forced labour camp and imprisoned in the First Division of Weizigou Forced Labour Camp in Changchun, where he was subjected to torture.

On June 3rd, 2008, Meng Qinglin's family, through various efforts found him and got to see him. After the family learned of his situation they questioned Chief Li, who answered, "Who beat him? Where is the wound?" Upon hearing this, Mr. Meng's wife's whole body shook with anger she said emotionally, "Just because of his belief and for distributing flyers, you maliciously tortured my husband, who is in his sixties. I will certainly appeal to the legal department and I demand to see your superior."

Mr. Meng's wife has a heart condition and looks after their young granddaughter and grandson. The grandson has been calling out for his grandfather daily.
