In the name of securing stability for the upcoming Olympic Games, Chinese Communist Party (CCP) agents in Zhuolu County, Hebei Province have been monitoring and registering all Falun Gong practitioners in the area. Under the pretext of checking their resident ID cards, the county government and police station are going from house to house, interrogating and examining county residents. Their goal is to monitor Falun Gong practitioners, Tibetans, religious groups, and petitioners. Meanwhile, police officers of the Zhuolu County 610 Office1 have repeatedly harassed practitioners who are supposedly "key characters" and tried to force them to sign documents promising that they will give up their beliefs. For example, agents from the 610 Office, together with chiefs of the Wujiagou Coal Mine and officers from the mine police station, forced practitioners on record to register. They also required their family members to sign the guarantee statement and fill in the practitioner's ID number, threatening to dismiss them from work if they did not comply. Below are some recent persecution cases.
