On the morning of April 25, 2008, Falun Gong practitioners from Finland gathered in front of the Chinese Embassy. They displayed banners reading, "Strongly Protesting the CCP's Use of the Olympics to Intensify Its Persecution of Falun Gong", "Immediately Stop Persecuting Falun Gong" and "Falun Dafa is Good". Practitioners told passers by about the reason for the April 25th Appeal, as well as how Falun Gong practitioners around the world have worked tirelessly to negate the persecution peacefully in the past nine years.

Finnish Falun Gong practitioners remember the April 25th Appeal and protest the CCP's persecution

The April 25th Appeal was the beginning of Dafa practitioners working together on a large scale to oppose the persecution. Representatives of Falun Gong practitioners at the gathering in Finland said they are strongly protesting the CCP's brutal nine-year persecution of Falun Gong, especially the organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners for money. They called for an immediate stop to the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners.

They also asked the workers in the consulate to take a stand and withdraw from the CCP.

Mr. Li, a Falun Gong practitioner, said, "Nine years ago I personally experienced the April 25th appeals. The Falun Gong practitioners who came to appeal were many, and they came from different places and different walks of life. They had trust in the government, and everyone hoped that the government would treat Falun Gong fairly. The entire process was calm and benign, displayed in front of the whole world was the practitioners' embodiment of 'Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance'. In response, the CCP launched its brutal persecution. To date, the persecution has continued for nine years."
