A Flower in Auschwitz? - An Example of How the CCP Media Twist the Truth to Serve Their Propaganda Goals

CCTV and several other media (all mouthpieces of the CCP's vast propaganda machine) recently paid close attention to a rescue from the Transportation TV Station in Heilongjiang Province. The story was like this: A mother who had just given birth was in critical need of medical treatment. Her life was threatened, but she couldn't afford the necessary treatment. The TV station started a fund-raising campaign to get her the medical attention she needed. By March 10, 260,000 yuan had been pledged, more than enough to cover her expenses. Her name was Xiao Jiao.

Such reports are calculated to bolster "feel good" sentiments; to deceive the public in China into thinking that, "Our media is so caring! The CCP is really dedicated to helping the people." But what is the truth?

A report on Minghui/Clearwisdom on November 15th 2004, told the story of Wang Yuzhi, who went through all sorts of torture for more than one hundred days during her detention in the Wanjia Forced Labor Camp. She said: "In the Wanjia Forced Labour Camp in Heilongjiang Province, a six or seven month pregnant woman had both hands tied over a beam, and then the stool under her feet was kicked away, leaving her body swinging in the air. The beam was three metres high (10 feet). One end of the rope was attached to a pulley and the other end was in the hands of the prison guard. When he pulled the rope, the pregnant lady would lift off the ground and swing in the air. When he let go of the rope, she dropped heavily to the ground. The guards continued this torture her until she miscarried. Equally cruel, the guards made her husband stand alongside and watch his wife being tortured. The reason for her torture was that she practised Falun Gong.

In Changli County, Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province, a little girl named Guo Yuetong whose mother and father were both Falun Gong practitioners, was illegally detained with her mother at a custodial station and brainwashing centre when she was just one year old. She was three years old when she was released. When she turned five, she was arrested again with her mother, and was illegally detained again.

Why doesn't the media care for these young mothers and tender small children?

The Chinese people are taken advantage of by the CCP. They CCP appeals to the people's kind-heartedness, manipulating it to achieve Party goals and to promote the Party.

In Xiao Jiao's case, the donations came from the public, but the goodwill went to the Party.

In truth, medical expenses have become one of the heaviest burdens Chinese people have to bear, with many no longer able to afford the care they need. Why doesn't the CCP solve that problem? Even if one woman like Xiao Jiao is rescued, there are thousands, tens of thousands of other Xiao Jiaos who also need to be rescued. Why doesn't the CCP solve the root of the problem? Why are public donations even necessary?

China's state-run media launched a massive campaign to defame and slander Falun Gong, contrived to turn public opinion against Falun Gong, and to thereby pave way for the persecution. This is much the same as Hitler's propaganda machine to demonize the Jews in the minds of the German people in the Holocaust.

Nineteen provinces in the mid and south of China were badly hit by big snow falls, leaving 100 million people struggling on the brink of death with no emergency help. Countless people died, but China's media reported that the situation is very good. The yearly Spring Festival Show on CCTV depicts a prosperous China, with happy people everywhere. This while Falun Gong is brutally persecuted and troops march into Tibet, Sichuan and Gansu provinces.

Outsiders can easily see the role the media plays in the CCP's rule. The relationship between the media and the CCP has been described as, "It is a dog kept by the Party. It stands at the gate of the Party. It will bite whoever the Party tells it to bite and bite however much the Party tells it to."

China's media lie to cover up the brutal persecution the CCP aims against the Chinese people. The Xiao Jiao incident is like a propaganda photograph of flowers in Hitler's Auschwitz Concentration Camp. It painted a beautiful picture for the Nazis. But should we let the concentration camp exist because of the beautiful flowers? Please wake up, Chinese people!
