Germany: “I have never seen such a moving and traditional Chinese performance”, says diplomat

“I have been in Germany for over seven years, but I have never seen such moving traditional Chinese performance” Mr. Zhang Weiting the Director of Taipei Tourism Agency, Taiwan Ministry of Transportation and Communications said after seeing the Gala Spectacular in Frankfurt on the 16th of February. He said, “I would like to express my respect for Shen Yun for organising such a big performance group”.

Zhang found that, the originality of the Spectacular was that music and dance were used to represent the connotation of belief while belief and arts were combined together. He said, “traditional Chinese arts could shake audience even in the field of religion, which is very special for me”.

Zhang said, “the three dimensional backdrop was very impressive the backdrop of the show was a very new design, besides combining the sceneries of different places, it displayed different cultures on one stage, we can learn a lot from the design, the three-dimensional backdrop designed on by computer was very attractive”.

Zhang also indicated that from the point of cultural exchange, whether it was the costumes or the dance of the Mongolian Dance, or the dance under the background of Tang culture, or the story of Yue Fei, they all exhibited traditional culture and history in the form of dance. “The show combined the cultural characteristics of dances from difference regions, which attracted the audience deeply”.

He said, “This is a very good way to let Westerners know about Chinese culture”.
