I am Falun Gong practitioner called Pan Jingxian. Fate Town police chief Zhang Yaomin in Shulan City, Jilin Province and Cao Yushi from the Township Office, along with six to seven policemen, arrested me at 9 p.m. on October 8th, 2006. They interrogated me and detained me for one night. The next day I was sent to the Nanshan Detention Centre in Shulan City and was locked up for 40 days. During these 40 days, they extorted 500 yuan1 of "boarding expenses" from my family. That was for all the food I got - one bowl of rice, a bowl of potato chunks and a few slices of chicken in the morning. They charged 25 yuan for that.

Then, a month later, on November 24th, 2006 they sent me to the Heizuizi Women's Forced Labour Camp in Changchun City, Jilin Province for one year. The same day I was surrounded by a group of collaborators2. I was forbidden to have any contact with other people. They slandered Dafa and forced me to read books of different religions. They verbally badgered me daily and attempted to coerce me to write a repentance statement3, and attempted to have me give up my beliefs. Because I did not cooperate, I was beaten several times.

Once, guard Wang Zhufeng accused me doing the sitting meditation on the bed. The camp guards were afraid of practitioners meditating or closing their eyes. They said we were sending out thoughts to curse them. She proceeded to attack me. She pulled my collar, slammed me against the wall and slapped my face. My chest was injured, and it took over a month to recover. She used an electric baton to shock me, as well.

Wang Zhufeng was the one who again attempted to coerce me to go to their "study group." I refused to go. She went berserk and beat me fiercely. She slapped my face and slammed me against the wall. She hit me on my chest and neck, and attempted to use an electric baton to shock me. When another prison guard saw her, she stopped. Instead, she used the baton to beat me. She threatened, "If you dare to tell, I will beat you again!"

My chest hurt as before. Wang Zhufeng's beatings made breathing difficult for me. I had severe heart disease prior to cultivation but recovered after I practised Falun Gong. Now it has returned. I started having a hard time breathing and talking. I could not open my eyes and was always sleepy. They were afraid, so they sent me to the emergency room. My blood pressure was 220. The doctor asked, "Who beat you?" I said, "Wang Zhufeng." Someone later told her. Wang Zhufeng then said to me, "When did I beat you? Wasn't it because you bumped into the wall?" Then she lowered her voice and threatened me, "If you dare to tell again, I will beat you to death!"

Even though my health was poor, the guards still compelled me to work at the labour camp. My condition worsened every day. I became thinner and thinner. I felt pain in my feet, and my torso and legs were numb.

On October 8th, 2007, I was released. Several months have gone by, and I still feel numb all over, even my tongue. I am so weak that I can't even fold my blanket. This caused me fall down and break my right wrist. This is all from the persecution I suffered.

Note

1. "Yuan" is the Chinese currency; 500 yuan is equal to the average monthly income of an urban worker in China.

2. "Collaborators": Former practitioners who have turned against Falun Gong under brainwashing and torture. They are then made to assist in brainwashing and torturing practitioners.

3. Repentance Statement: In this statement the practitioner is forced to admit remorse for practising Falun Gong, promise to give up Falun Gong, and never again associate with other practitioners or go to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong.
