Witnessing the Evil in Heizuizi Labour Camp

I was very fortunate to first begin to learn Falun Dafa on June 13, 1999. On June 20, 1999, hearing that dictator Jiang wanted to persecute Falun Dafa; I went to Beijing to appeal. In my four trips to Beijing, I was illegally detained twice and imprisoned twice. In March 2000, I was sent to Heizuizi Labour Camp in Changchun City for one year of forced labour. Because I refused to renounce my belief in Falun Dafa, I was forced to serve an extra one year term. I returned home in February 2002.

The cruel persecution I endured during my two years at Heizuizi, which included forced-feeding, confinement in a "small cell" and countless torture sessions of being beaten or shocked with electric batons, could not make me waver in my rock solid faith in Falun Dafa When I was being persecuted, there was only one thought in my heart, "Even if I die under the electric baton, I will never betray my faith in Truth-Compassion-Forbearance."

In the labour camp, it is hard to come into contact with the outside world, so I tried my best to make use of the time to clarify the truth to people there, like the truck drivers and the quality control officers. I told them that Falun Dafa is good, that those who wrote letters to give up Dafa had been coerced against their own will; they were deprived of sleep, shocked by electric batons, locked up in "small cells;" many of them wrote a letter saying they would quit practicing Faun Dafa when they couldn't bear it any more. They nodded when they heard what I said. They all knew that I was telling them the truth.

The Heizuizi Labour Camp is an extremely evil place. I was an eyewitness to the inhumane persecution being employed on many fellow practitioners. There were over 100 people in the Fourth Quarter, which I belonged to. Unwavering Dafa practitioners were put into "small cells" and subjected to cruel torture. One practitioner refused to denounce Dafa and refused to wear the name label, so the Fourth Quarter guards devised their own special cell, tied her down on the "death bed” (The four limbs of the practitioner are stretched out and tied to the four corners of an icy-cold metal bed. The practitioner cannot move at all. Neither is he allowed to get up to eat, drink, or go to the bathroom. This treatment would last from several hours up to more than a dozen days. This type of cruel torture causes severe damage to the practitioner both mentally and physically) and shocked her with electric batons. Her screams pierced everybody's heart; no one could bear it and they weren't able to work. One time five guards were coercing her to give up: four of them beat her, while the fifth one shocked her with an electric baton.

Another practitioner who refused to give up her faith and refused to wear a name label was locked up by guards in an iron cage inside a "small cell" for over a month. A "small cell" is not a place for human beings. When I was detained in a "small cell," a rat crawled into my pants once and sometimes rats ran over my head.

On the eve of the 2001 Chinese New Year, the guards said to us, "It's New Years Eve; you can talk about whatever makes you happy." I said, "We are being persecuted here, cannot live like human beings, how could we have anything happy [to talk about]?" A practitioner took the opportunity to stand up and expose the evil persecution, recounting that the so-called "denouncement statements" were the result of torture by electric batons, not from people's true will. A guard immediately took her away and shocked her with an electric baton until her body was covered with wounds. These wounds are still clearly recognisable even after a year.

The head of the Fifth Quarter used an electric baton on a practitioner's genitals. The practitioner was rolling on the floor in such pain that it was unbearable to see. One time, another young practitioner was calling aloud for help when being attacked by a vicious criminal inmate. More than 100 people heard it, yet Feng, the guard on duty at the time, did not even raise an eyebrow, totally disregarding the life or death of a Dafa practitioner.

The means used by the labour camp to persecute Dafa practitioners are unbearably cruel, and the individual cases of persecution are numerous. Moreover, in my case, the persecution did not end after I was released. From the time I returned home in February until now, it has been over a month. The police have come to my home a number of times and twice to my son's school to look for him. They wouldn't even spare a child! At present, I am forced to stay away from my home with my son; the child can't even go to school. The police were not satisfied because they could not catch me. They then went to harass my relatives. What they really want through me is my husband (He is a Dafa practitioner who was also forced to leave home to avoid persecution a long while ago.) Now, my whole family cannot go home.

The only thing we did was to say a few words of truth, but what we've gotten in return is such inhumane treatment.

As a Dafa practitioner, I'd like to give some serious advice to those who are doing evil: stop persecuting Dafa and Dafa practitioners, for you are truly hurting yourselves.
