Clearwisdom.net previously reported on the persecution suffered by Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Gong Maocheng, an employee of the Mengyin County Electricity Bureau in Shandong Province. Now, here is further information.

On October 9th, 2000, Mr. Gong Maocheng was arrested because he distributed leaflets exposing the persecution of Falun Gong. He was detained in the Mengyin Detention Centre for 27 days and was forced to pay 1060 yuan1 for a so-called administrative fee. On November 5th, 2000, he was transferred to the brainwashing centre of the Mengyin County 610 Office2 and detained there for 48 days. The brainwashing centre extorted him out of 5000 yuan and then another 720 yuan for his living expenses.

After he went back to work, the electricity bureau withheld his salary and bonus. Between November 2000 and March 2002, the bureau did not pay his salary for 11 months and the total amount was 21,000 yuan. The bureau gave him only 180 yuan per month for his living expenses. His salary was reduced by one level, about 57 yuan per month. Between 2001 and 2007, the total loss was 4788 yuan due to the decreased salary level.

At about 8 a.m. on September 7th, 2006, Sun Liangshan, head of the Duozhuang Town Police Station, arrested Mr. Gong Maocheng while he was on duty at the Duozhuang Electricity Station. He was taken away in his work uniform and detained in a detention centre for 47 days.

The police brutally tortured him. Mr. Gong was transferred to a new place every 24 hours. Wherever he was, the police beat him. When he was detained by the Mengyin County Criminal Police Team, the police covered his head with a black plastic bag and then beat him, which caused his mouth and nose to bleed. The police did not stop until he fainted. His hands were handcuffed from the back and then he was hung on a heating pipe. He was only able to touch the ground with his toes. He was hung this way for 24 days. The police forced him to sit on a tiger bench3 and slapped his face. When the police became tired of slapping, they beat him with their shoes. Policeman Wang Wei also handcuffed Mr. Gong behind his back and forced him to sit on the ground with his back against the wall and his two legs straight. Wang Wei then brutally beat his feet. Wang Wei stuck Mr. Gong's lower legs with a rolling electric ball, which caused Mr. Gong extreme pain.

At the same time, the Mengyin County 610 Office, the detention centre and the Mengyin County Electricity Bureau also persecuted him financially. The detention centre extorted1260 yuan from him for a so-called administrative fee; the 610 Office forced him to pay 20,000 yuan for a fine; and the police extorted 27,000 yuan from his family. The police also took away Mr. Gong's new laptop, an electric charger, and a multi-function surge protector, worth a total of 17,000 yuan.
