On October 20th, Falun Gong practitioners participated in the homecoming parade at the University of Missouri in Columbia. The practitioners' performance was well-received, and viewers, including many Chinese people, greeted the Falun Gong procession with applause and waving hands.
Homecoming is an important event at many US universities. Among other activities, there is often a grand parade and a football game. Interestingly, this tradition started at the University of Missouri in 1911.

During the parade, practitioners displayed banners which read "Falun Dafa" and "Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance." They also presented a decorated float on which several practitioners demonstrated the exercises. Among the 100+ groups, the Falun Gong group featuring traditional oriental culture was very unique. Viewers greeted the practitioners with warm applause and waving hands. Some Chinese even talked briefly with the practitioners who were distributing Falun Gong fliers, expressing their interest in learning more about the practice.
