Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Sun Xianming, 56, from Tonghua City is a former employee of the now-closed petroleum machinery factory. On November 15th, 2001, at about 4:00 a.m., Mr. Sun wrote a message at the over-pass of the Second Department Store. It said, "The Tiananmen Self-immolation1 was fabricated by Jiang Zemin's [former leader of China and instigator of the persecution] group to persecute Falun Gong" and further demanded that authorities investigate it. For his act, he was arrested by Police Officer Yao from the Political Security Section of Dongchang District Police Department. Police Officer Shen Shuheng and others from the State Security Division went to Mr. Sun Xianming's home to confiscate his family's property

At the Dongchang District Security Division, Mr. Sun conveyed several questionable facts regarding the Tiananmen Self-immolation to Shen Shuheng and other police officers while they listened with embarrassment. Despite Mr. Sun 's testimony regarding the persecution, the officers sentenced him to a two-year term of forced labour and took him to Chaoyanggou Labour Camp in Changchun City, Jilin Province.

During his unjust incarceration in Chaoyanggou Forced Labour Camp, Mr. Sun suffered brutality at the hands of guard Zhu Shenglin, who broke Mr. Sun's arms and hung him from a bunk bed while shocking him with several electric batons simultaneously. Sun Xianming suffered severe burns to his chest. Not only did he not receive medical treatment for his broken arms and severe chest burns, he was forced to pick corn stalks in the cornfield all day, which caused severe swelling in his arms. His pain continued into the evening because he was forced to sit on a small backless stool until midnight, and then again at 2:00 a.m. The guards also incited the criminal inmates to pummel and kick him, as well as forcing him to stand with his upper body bent at a 90 degree angle. During the winter months, he was forced to sit at the entrance of the camp, where he suffered from exposure to the cold and wind while cold water was poured all over him. He later was carried back to the camp where he continued to suffer from the cold and wind that came through the open windows. After nearly a year of this torture, Mr. Sun developed a very serious case of tuberculosis. He experienced severe weight loss and his health was near the point of collapse. He requested to see his family members one last time. Those in charge also believed that he would not live much longer, so they released him on bail. When Mr. Sun 's wife arrived at Chaoyanggou Labour Camp to take him home, she did not recognise her own husband and asked him repeatedly "Are you Ming? Are you Ming?"

After going home, Mr. Sun Xianming had x-rays taken at the city hospital. The results revealed that one arm had been broken with a 90-degree dislocation. He underwent surgery at the city hospital , but lost the use of one arm.

Sun Xianming went to the Appeals Office, the National People's Congress, the Political Consultative Conference, the courts, the Procuratorate, the trade union, the Procuratorate of Jilin Province, and the judicial bureau in Tonghua City to appeal his case, but received no response. This is what it is really like in the so-called "harmonious" society under the wicked Communist Party's leadership. Criminals are found innocent, and the brave persons that expose the sinister plots of the government are sentenced to forced labour camps and have no place voice their grievances and seek redress.
