Wangcun Women's Forced Labour Camp in Shandong Province, also known as the Second Women's Forced Labour Camp, has acted like a group of thugs in its persecution of Falun Gong practitioners for the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) ever since July 20th, 1999. More than 400 practitioners are still being held there.

In order to reach their reform quotas, the camp's guards have adopted all kinds of abuses against the practitioners. The methods most commonly used include: 1) Sleep deprivation; 2) The use of several collaborators to indoctrinate the steadfast practitioners with fallacies and propaganda; 3) Long-term forced standing, making practitioners' legs and feet swell; 4) Prohibition of toilet use, compelling practitioners to relieve themselves into their clothing; 5) "Strict Control" team punishment, confining practitioners in small cells; 6) Handcuffing and beating practitioners and forbidding them to do the Falun Gong exercises; 7) Hanging practitioners up with only their toes touching the ground; and 8) Trying to force practitioners to sign or leave their fingerprint on the three statements1.

Five practitioners are now suffering such abuse because they have refused to "reform2."

Ms. Gao Mingxia has been sent to a forced labour camp twice. She knew that her previous renouncing of Falun Gong was wrong. This time she believes firmly in Dafa. The guards put her in a small cell where she also has to relieve herself. The inmate that watches her restricts her access to water since that inmate has to deal with the toilet bucket.

Yan Xiling had been sent to a forced labour camp twice but refused to "reform." The guards forced her to stand all day long for many days until her legs swelled up to her thighs and she could not stand anymore. The guards attempted to force her to write a "monthly review," but she refused.

Li Xuerong and Cao Yanchun refused to "reform." They were punished by having to stand till midnight each day for two weeks.

Xu Xuemei had been sent to a forced labour camp twice before. Police locked her in a small cell for her refusal to reform.

Guards involved in the abuse: Cui Hongwen, Han Xinke, Zhang Fang, Li Aiwen, Zhang Chunxia, and others.

Note

1. "Three Statements": Practitioners are coerced under brainwashing and torture to write "Repentance Statement," "Guarantee Statement" or 'Dissociation Statement" as proof that they have given up their belief. In the statement, the practitioner is forced to admit remorse for practising Falun Gong, promise to give up Falun Gong, and never again associate with other practitioners or go to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong.

2. "Reform or Transform" Implementation of brainwashing and torture in order to force a practitioner to renounce Falun Gong. (Variations: "reform", "transform", "reformed", "reforming", "transformed", "transforming", and "transformation")
