On the evening of July 20th, 2007, practitioners from Johor Bharu held a candlelight vigil on the beach near the Duty-free Complex to commemorate the practitioners who have died in the brutal persecution initiated by the Chinese Communist regime.

Through Falun Gong Practitioners' eight-year journey of truth clarification and peaceful resistance, more and more people have been awakening and in turn spreading the truth more widely in society.

During the event, a lot of cars and passersby paused to take in the scene. Some of them took truth- clarification materials. Many of them came to a better understanding of what is happening in China after practitioners explained to them the meaning of the activity.

The ceremony began at 5:55 p.m. and concluded around 8:30 p.m.
