United States: Falun Gong Practitioners Demonstrate Traditional Chinese Culture at Kimmel Centre in Philadelphia

Traditional Chinese culture is becoming more and more popular in society. On April 28th, 2007, the Kimmel Centre in Philadelphia held an activity entitled "PNC Kids Grow Up Well," and Falun Gong practitioners were invited to demonstrate Chinese arts.

People want to learn about traditional Chinese culture

The Renaissance Art Troupe, consisting of Falun Gong practitioners, performed Chinese dances. The goal of the arts troupe is to promote traditional Chinese culture, which values truthfulness, compassion, loyalty among others. They combine the Eastern and Western arts together and the performances were very much welcomed by the audience.

Falun Gong practitioners also demonstrated the exercises. Some people learned them and some people requested more information about Falun Gong. Practitioners also taught attendees how to fold paper lotus flowers and speak a few words in Chinese. Some people learned the ribbon dance.

Iri learned the Chinese dances. He also learned how to say "thank you" in Chinese. He said that the performances were fabulous.

Mr. Michelle Wolfson brought his grandson to the show. He liked the Chinese performances, and he is very interested in Chinese culture.

Many people gave very positive feedback. Ms. Monica Thompson said that she loves Chinese culture and that the activity was fun.
