Note: The following is a shortened version of a longer and more detailed article that appeared on the minghui.ca website (Chinese version of Clearwisdom.net.)

Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Li Dafan from the Haidian District in Beijing is 57 years old and worked at the Property and Casualty Company Limited of the People's Insurance Company of China. Officers from the Haidian Police Department arrested her on February 20th, 2006 and held her at the Haidian Detention Centre. She was sentenced to two years of forced labour on March 22nd, 2006 and on June 1st, 2006, she was transferred to the Beijing City Labour Reeducation Dispatch Division, and subsequently taken to Beijing Women’s Forced Labour Camp on July 25th, 2006. She said she would continue to practise Falun Dafa. That affirmation resulted in her being placed under strict control at the camp's Division 8 and thus prevented from having contact with other people. The officials imposed other restrictions on her, including those pertaining to toilet visits and drinking water. She had to get up at 5 a.m. each morning and go to bed after midnight. The persecutors bombard her with daily, endless brainwashing sessions and force her to watch slanderous TV programmes.

When she met with her family on January 11th, 2007, her family members noticed her swollen feet, as big as melons. When they asked her about her legs, she said, "I stood [for a long time]."
