Ruthless Persecution by 610 Office and Police in Weihai, Shandong Province

I am a woman in my 60's. Because I practise Falun Gong, I have been arrested, and my home has been ransacked numerous times by officials from the Weihai 610 Office1, the Weihai Zhudao Police Station, and the Weihai Huangguan Police Station. I have been detained, fined and sentenced to forced labour, and the authorities tried to brainwash me. Policemen Yu Bo, Fan Xinjiang, Yin Jie, and others cruelly tortured me, and I have suffered mental and physical harm, bringing irretrievable losses to my family.

On April 28th, 2002, head of the Weihai Police Station Xu Dongsheng and four policemen broke into and ransacked my home. Afterwards they forced me into a police vehicle and took me to the Weihai Detention Centre.

There were many Dafa practitioners detained there. We went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution and demanded our release. I shared a prison cell with two other Dafa practitioners who were also over sixty years old. The police locked us to a big iron ring every night for several nights and didn't allow us to sleep or use the toilet. In an attempt to "reform2" us, they used a variety of methods to persecute us. They locked the steadfast Dafa practitioners to metal chairs in the courtyard to be scorched by the sun during the day and chilled by the cold air at night. This went on for four days.

My legs swelled up badly from being exposed to the cold wind at night and being locked up, in addition to continuing the hunger strike for several days. Since we weren't allowed to move, my whole body felt totally exhausted and sores on my legs filled with pus. Six Dafa practitioners were locked up in the courtyard. One was from out of town. He was disabled and made a living carving seals. He couldn't walk without a cane and was unable to care for himself. When he developed a high fever and fell unconscious, the police made no attempt to help him.

On the fourth day after arriving at the detention centre, policeman Yu Bo made a record, fingerprinted me and tried to photograph me. I refused to cooperate and said to him, "I didn't break any laws and I am not a prisoner. I refuse to be photographed. It is a crime to persecute innocent people."

Without saying anything, Yu Bo kicked me in the back with all his strength. Being taken completely off guard, I fell into the corridor outside the cell near the stairs. He then handcuffed me and dragged me inside. With one hand on the handcuffs, he used his other hand to grab my neck roughly.

I did all I could to resist. He then violently kicked me behind the knees and knocked me to the floor. He locked me to the leg of a desk and stomped on my thighs. He then kicked my chest twice.

Another Dafa practitioner, who was also locked to a leg of the same desk, rebuked Yu Bo, saying, "How can you beat her like that? She is older than your mother. What will you do if she is injured?" With a sly look Yu Bo smiled and said, "Have I hit her?"

During the 16th National Party Conference, on the pretext of ensuring a successful conference, the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners was escalated. The police broke into my home one evening at about 8 or 9 o’clock and took me to the Zibo Brainwashing Centre, and kept me there for one month. They tried to extort 4,800 yuan3 from me. Since my annual pension is only about one thousand yuan, they would have to deduct the money for several years from my pension. Liu Jie, head of the "610 Office," held a bunch of one hundred yuan bills and shouted, "See, the Chinese Communist Party spends money to brainwash you. It is ungrateful of you to refuse to be reformed." That money was actually extorted from Dafa practitioners.

On July 31st, 2006, while I was on my way to a supermarket, a group of policemen rushed towards me and forced me into a police vehicle. They said that someone had reported me and detained me at the Weihai Huangguan Police Station. Policeman Pan Xinjiang charged me and photographed me. I refused to answer any questions or have my picture taken. Pan Xinjiang grabbed me by the hair and pulled me back suddenly to allow the picture to be taken. I struggled.

I was thirsty and my lips had split up. There was a large jug of water in the office, but Pan refused to give me any. The policemen ate their lunches right in front of me. I said to them, "You have lunch when you are hungry. You keep me here and do not give me food or even water." They kept silent and moved to another office to eat.

Later Pan Xinjiang took me to another office. A group of people, including the head of the 610 Office Liu Jie, came. Liu Jie said my name and my home address to let me know that they had information about me. People from the Weihai 610 Office and Huangguan Police Station took me back to the Weihai Detention Centre. They also ransacked my home.

I went on a hunger strike in protest. On the second day of the hunger strike, jail doctors Song Changshuang and Yin Jie came to forced-feed me. At the beginning, Song couldn’t insert the feeding tube into my throat. Yin Jie grabbed the tube from him and forced it into my throat. I felt a searing pain and tears ran down my face. I was almost suffocated. Yin Jie then took the feeding tube out and re-inserted it. She repeated this over and over again. She howled, "There is nothing I cannot do and there is nothing I don't know how to do. The only thing I haven't done is kill. If I want to kill, it won't take me more than 2 to 3 minutes to kill a person."

While I was on the verge of death, they sentenced me to two years of forced labour and sent me to the Wangcun Forced Labour Camp in Shandong Province. I was in critical condition during this time. However, I continued the hunger strike to protest the persecution. Under Dafa's compassionate protection, I was able to break out of the labour camp.
