Ms. Ma Meiying was from Dongtian Village, Xinle City, Shijiazhuang, Hebei Province. In 2003 she went with two practitioners to Zhili Town, Xingtang County, to distribute leaflets exposing the persecution. They were reported and Zhili Town police detained them at the police station overnight. They were taken to Xingtang Detention Centre the following day and were detained for another six days. The three practitioners went on a hunger strike to protest being persecuted. Police at the detention centre ordered other prisoners to violently feed them through a tube. Ms. Ma was injected with an unknown substance and force fed with salt water. She developed partial paralysis. To escape their responsibility, Xingtang police took Ms. Ma home on the sixth day.

Family members took Ms. Ma to Xinle City Hospital a few days later, but she never recovered. Ms. Ma Meiying died on November 28th, 2006.
