In response to the detention and brutal treatment of Falun Gong practitioners, the Board of Appeals of the German Parliament has made a resolution urging the Germany Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Parliament to take effective measures to stop the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. Falun Gong practitioner Jiang Renzheng was sentenced to three years in a labour camp after he was deported by the German government which underestimated the risk of Jiang’s return to China.

On December 22nd, Radio Free Asia (RFA) reported that the CCP brutal persecution of Falun Gong practitioners has attracted more attention from the Germany society in the past several years. Most recently, in response to appeals from human rights groups and activists, a division of the German Parliament has made a new resolution. The resolution has then received high attention from the media and people from all circles. Regarding this resolution, a reporter of the RFA interviewed Ms.Tang who has been actively involved in rescuing Falun Gong practitioners.

Ms. Tang told the reporter that Board of Appeals of the Germany Parliament has made a resolution to fight for rights of Falun Gong practitioners. The resolution definitely stated: “The German Federal Parliament and Government shall fight for Falun Gong practitioners before the Chinese Authorities and shall be dedicated to establishing freedom of expression, belief and assembly in China.”

Ms. Tang also explained why such a resolution was passed, she said: “The resolution has its background. One is the arrest of Jiang Renzheng. Jiang and his family who applied for asylum in Germany, however, their application was denied and they were deported back to China. Upon their return, Jiang was arrested and sentenced to three years in a labour camp. This incident shocked the members of Parliaments. Many of them have worked very hard to rescue Jiang. When they wrote to the Chinese Embassy to request the release of Jiang, the response to them stated: Jiang violated Chinese laws for practicing Falun Gong and the three year sentence is correct. To date, Jiang is still under detention despite all the rescue efforts. This incident helped members of Parliament to realise how ridiculous the persecution is as well as its brutality.

In addition, new discovery of the facts of the persecution have received wide attention from the German society.

Ms. Also Tang said: “Another reason is that the CCP organ harvesting atrocities which were first exposed last March. This discovery shocked the Board of Appeals. Some MPs of the Board wrote to us. In the letters, they said that they believed such atrocities were real and supported an independent investigation in China.

After the resolution was passed, the attention of the German society and public media soon focused on the persecution of Ms. Wang Xiaoyang as the latest information from China revealed that Wang has been subject to brutal persecution.

Ms Tang said: Wang is the wife of Zhang Zhentong, an International student in Germany. She has been arrested three times and is currently detained in Masanjia Labour Camp. Shortly after the passing of this resolution, from reliable sources, we learned that Wang has been brutally tortured in the camp. This case immediately received high attention from German human rights groups, media and politicians. For example, the Voice of Germany TV has made a special report citing Wang’s case as a support to the resolution and calling German society and the government to pay more attention to Falun Gong practitioners and take action to stop the persecution.
