Public Security Continues to Worsen-

Changchun Police Forces Wantonly Arrest Hundreds of Falun Dafa Practitioners

News from Jilin Province -- at least several hundred Falun Gong practitioners have been arrested in Changchun City. Over 200 practitioners are illegally detained at Changchun City Tiebei Detention Centre alone, including those who were detained prior to this sweep and had not yet been released. Most of the detainees are male practitioners. The majority of the female practitioners who have been arrested are detained in Changchun's No. 3 Detention Centre in Shuangyang District. Some other practitioners were forced to leave home. Police cars are patrolling many streets 24 hours a day, some of them displaying police license plates and some not. They take turns patrolling. After no more than two days of patrol, the cars are transferred to another place and others take their place. The police department has stopped all routine daily work. The authorities have hired a group of villains off the streets to intensify the persecution of Falun Gong, this allows for many other criminals to have a "safe environment for crime."

It is reported that 13 Falun Gong practitioners were illegally tried in Nanguan District Court. These practitioners have been given jail sentences varying from 10 to 15 years.

This news source also claimed that, recently, Changchun City government and police authorities frequently held meetings. They put aside all criminal cases and devoted all of their resources to persecute Falun Gong around the clock. The police departments and police stations set quotas for each police officer regarding arrest of Falun Gong practitioners, saying, "No matter what, simply arrest them." The terrorist organization known as the "610 Office" secretly granted the police [power] to ransack suspicious residents' homes and empowered them to break in if the resident refuses to open the door. The "610 Office," without due process of law, also sanctioned arrest of people when Falun Dafa books, cassettes or other Falun Gong-related items are found. Anyone found with these items in their possession can be directly sentenced to 3-5 years in jail. The "610 Office" authorities also proposed to elevate the nature of this movement to "a struggle between social classes." Many police think, "The government has not been this harsh in all their political movements ever since the founding of the People's Republic of China." Judging from the elevation of the persecution and such edicts, observers believe that Jiang's regime has realized clearly that this is a critical moment of his career and is a matter of political survival to him, and they also completely realize the fact that Falun Gong would never submit to violence.

[Note: The "610 Office" is an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems]

News sources also claim that because of this incident, Jilin Province probably has several quotas for execution of Falun Gong practitioners.

Observers think, both the unconditional order to "shoot to kill" and execution reveal that China's ruling dictator is using political name-calling to "physically eliminate" people with different thoughts. For the past several days, Falun Gong practitioners overseas have been actively calling for the support from the international community to help stop the spread of this crime in China.

It was also learned that several hundred practitioners in Siping City, Jilin Province were arrested before the truth-clarification video was even played in Changchun City. After March 5, several other practitioners were arrested in Yitong County, Jilin Province.

Right now, the civil unrest is terrible in Changchun City and robbery is rife. Some shops close before 10 p.m. out of fear of burglary.
